Easton enters Loyola University at age of 15

1995

Easton joins NSA - He is hired as cryptographer at the United States National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland.

1997

Easton leaves NSA - Fed up with government bureaucracy, Trent Easton leaves the NSA voluntarily, accepting a position at Ellison Electronic Security, Inc (EES), a susidiary of dataDyne Industries.

2000

Easton named to head up EES - He is named to head up EES, Inc., a digital information security program contracted to the U.S. National Security Agency.

2007

Easton named Deputy Director (DD) of NSA - Dissatisfied with corporate bureaucracy, Trent Easton accepts the President’s nomination to the post of Deputy Director of the NSA. Many veteran NSA officers retire after Easton’s nomination is approved, citing the increasing trend towards filling director-level positions from outside the agency. Several NSA officers complain that Easton, although an analyst for a short time, is an outsider and a politician and not part of the “family.”

Trent Easton named Director of NSA - The President of the United States appoints Trent Easton to the position of Director of the U.S. National Security Agency. Easton begins to lobby for corporate support for “non-critical” operations.
